Schools out for summer pool party!

Here are some pics from the end of school pool party that the boys hosted at our home. We had a blast!

Summer, Summer, Summertime!

There is no time like summer time and we are enjoying our summer. We have been hanging out by our pool of course, like most do here in Arizona. Big Alton is a master on the bbq and the kids and I indulge in his many yummy creations happily. A couple of my favorites so far has been his mushroom/swiss turkey burgers and lemon/basil lobster tails. Fridays and Sundays are our official family days. On Fridays we normally take the kids to a family fun center and on Sundays we go to church then out to eat later. Alton Jr. and Alston both finished the school year on honor roll so we let them celebrate with a pool party. We soon found that our kids are more popular than we already imagined. They gave out 60 invites and had about 35 guests. Only 4 parents stayed, lol! It was alot of fun...Big Alton grilled over 80 hot dogs and hosted different pool games and activities. My favorite game was the pool relay race. It was boys against girls and guess what...the girls won! Yes! Our theme was hawaiin and I found all of the appropriate decorations. I even found faux olympic gold medals for the winners of the games. It was just fab and everyone from the party left with a hawaiin lei as a parting gift. The pool party started at 5pm and was suppose to end at 9pm but we had a few kids stick around until about 11pm. Besides the xbox 360, laptop and office computer the kids have been sleeping in and eating us out of house and home. Just enjoying the summer with occasional studying and extracurricular activities of course. Alton and I definitely make it a point to still have our date nights which seem to increase in the summer time. We love to try new restaurants, go to the movies, shop, spa and get together with other couples. A couple weeks ago we tried something new...karoke, can you believe it? Lol! I got addicted right away and sang everything from Beyonce to Alicia Keys, etc. Alton and I also did a duet of Jay-z and Beyonce's crazy in love. It was so much fun. We will be going on vacation July 21st through the 28th to Las Vegas and, so I'm sure I will have lots more pics to share soon.

9 years and going strong...

Alton and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary on May 27th, 2009. As you know we are high school sweethearts and have been together forever, but we never take for granted each year we get through together. It hasn't always been and it's not always easy. But we look to each other and our Lord to get through any and everything. We dined at The Melting Pot which is a fine fondue restaurant. It was so romantic because we sat in a private curtained booth. The restaurant provided us with a champagne toast for the occasion. This year we got matching white his and hers Chanel watches (see pics). We're so happy and I thank the Lord for our marriage.
